Meet Dr. Nicholas Hou at Sparwood Dental Clinic

Dr. Nicholas Hou

Dr. Nicholas Hou brings a strong academic background and a thoughtful approach to patient care. His post-secondary education began with an Honours Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University, followed by a Master of Science, also at Queen’s University, where he studied the activity of an essential neuronal protein. He then completed his PhD at Western University, where he conducted research involving Dental Implants and other dental materials. After completing his PhD, Dr. Hou moved to Europe and received his dental education in Ireland.

As a Sparwood dentist, Dr. Hou believes in supporting his patients’ oral health through education and places their comfort among his highest priorities. His approach focuses on clear communication, minimally invasive dentistry, and helping patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their care. Outside the clinic, Dr. Hou enjoys travelling and has had the opportunity to explore close to 40 countries. Besides exploring new cultures, he can often be found cycling, spending time outdoors, or at the gym. He also practises taekwondo and plays the violin.
