The process of receiving a dental implant requires a number of visits over several months. If an implant is right for you, X-rays and impressions are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. The implant will be surgically placed into the bone while the area is numb. Then, to allow the bone to heal, it will be left for up to six months. After several weeks of healing, the artificial teeth, crown(s), are made and fitted to the post portion of the anchor. Because we may require several fittings, this step may take one to two months to complete. And lastly, the artificial teeth are secured to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are called indirect restorations because the restoration is fabricated outside of the mouth, instead of being built in layers directly into the tooth like a dental filling. Crowns are also more effective than dental fillings in reinforcing teeth to withstand biting force and tooth decay. The dentist starts by taking impressions of your teeth. Then the restoration is shaped to match the part of the tooth it will replace and is attached with dental cement. If a tooth’s original structure is too compromised to support a filling, these indirect restorations can provide fantastic, long-lasting, beautiful results.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges help fill the gap left there by missing teeth, preventing the surrounding teeth from moving into the gap and becoming misaligned.  A fixed bridge is a less invasive treatment than a dental implant. In cases where the surrounding teeth are strong enough to support the bridge, it is an excellent solution to maintain alignment. We can also craft a bridge that perfectly matches the colour and shape of your surrounding teeth, helping to give you back your perfect smile.
